POLY 50

hey guys (:

Some of you may have seen this poster around school and be wondering what is it all about. Well its basically a run along a 600-metre route flanked by the workshops and main administration building. Participants are required to complete 50 rounds of the circuit, of which certain rounds must be completed by lady runners.

The race requires 10 runners to form a student team and 12 runners for the staff team. The SP student category competes for the former President Wee Kim Wee Challenge Shield and staff category competes for the Dr Khoo Kay Chai's Challenge Trophy. Other categories included are Inter-Secondary School Invitation and Alumni.

In a team of ten, there need to be 6 GUYS and 4 GIRLS.
Therefore, Divers are looking for runners who are willing and interested to take part in this event. If so, please leave your name in the comment box and we'll get in touch with you.

We can have more than one team so don't be shy because the more teams there are, the odds of us winning is bigger. However, it is also a good way to exercise those extra energy and be pulled into the frenzy of excitement as there will be prizes/medals to be won as well (:

Selections and training will be conducted in September, a month before the event takes places so that everyone is ready and prepared for it :D

SO, PUT YOUR GAME FACE ON (:

Listen up!

Hey guys,

I hope you've enjoyed the scuba diving trip that we'd organised for you few weeks back. Now for the edusave part. You guys are required to drop your edusave forms into our letter box which is located just opposite the rockclimbing wall (near sports hall and the huge projector screen). Our letterbox is number 16 and is labelled with our club name.

Filling up the form
There are a couple of things you have to take note while filling up the form. Firstly, in Part 1 of the form, write Open Water Diving Course Under Course/Fee Description. Secondly, for Usage Category write EPC-OTRIP. The rest fill accordingly. Lastly, please include your Singapore Polytechnic Admin Number on the top right hand corner of form.

Edusave is only applicable for those who enrolled for the diving course. Leisure divers cannot apply for edusave scheme.

Once you have filled up all the following, you can head down to our letterbox and drop it in. Please drop all your edusave forms by 13th July, 5pm.
Your money will be sent to you via post in about a month time (depending on how fast the finance department processes the documents).

Details about your textbooks and test dates will be notified to you by email and also put up on our blog, (www.spscuba.blogspot.com). Please visit our blog for updates on dive trips and other gatherings:D
Any queries please call me at 9457 5682.

Thank You

Updates!

Hey guys (:

Sorry to keep you all in the dark. With all of us busy with Final Year Projects and personal life and what-have-you-not, we have yet to keep in touch with the diving world. I know some have been asking if there is another Open Water Dive Trip anytime soon. The thing is, the school is done and we're moving on to Advance Diving

However, do not fret because we can still link you to Manfred Chai who we liasion with for all the diving trips that we have done. He's a great funny dude (:
Or if you are really patient, we always look out for more people who are interested in diving next year so don't forget to book early.

And if you want to get to know more about us, we'll always be here to give awesome advice as well as diving tips and of course, let you know the best places to dive (;

Till then,
amirah abdollah
secretary of SPSD.
